This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned from your hand to your opponent's side of the field by also Special Summoning 2 "Grinder Tokens" (Demon/Dark/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in face-up Attack Position on your side of the Field. If you Special Summon this monster, you cannot Normal Summon or Set during the same turn.

This card is an odd card that can only be Special Summoned to your opponent's field, by giving yourself 2 tokens. Another card does roughly the same thing is "Lava Golem", which also remove 2 of your opponent's monster and deal burn damage.

Normally, you would Special Summon this card in Defence Position so that you can destroy it in battle with cards like "Evil Hero Infero Wing" (deal 4800 damage) , or "KA-2 Des Scissors" or "Needle Burrower" (deal 4000 damage). Although you can't Normal Summon or Set, you can Special Summon monsters like "Destiny Hero - Plasma" or "Raviel, Lord of Phantasms" with the tokens. "Destiny Hero - Plasma" can even steal this card from your opponent's field and equip it onto itself.

The token generated can be used for "Crush Card Virus". If your opponent do not have any other monster, you can swap your Token with this card by using "Creature Swap" or "Creature Seizure". The use of "Remove Brainwashing" or "Owner's Seal" can steal back this card from your opponent's field too, just like "Lava Golem" or "Volcanic Queen".

By using "Compulsory Evacuation Device" on this card, you can get it back to your Hand to recycle its effect.

Note that if you Special Summon this card from the Graveyard/RFG, you cannot Normal Summon in the same turn, or similarly if you have already Normal Summon, you cannot Special Summon this card from Graveyard/RFG.

Only 1 "Earthbound God" monster can be face-up on the field. When there is no Field Magic Card face-up on the field, this card is destroyed. Your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target. This card can attack your opponent directly. When this card is removed from the field, other than by its own effect, destroy all face-up monsters on your opponent's side of the field. Then inflict 800 damage to your opponent's Life Points for each monster that was destroyed by this effect.

Aside from the common effect of "Earthbound God", this card has an interesting effect to destroying all your opponent face up monsters when it is removed from the field. Basically this is a built-in "Lighting Vortex" with 800 burn damage per monster destroyed. An interesting way to use this effect is by activating "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" to remove this card temporarily from game and destroy your opponent's monster. Combo this effect with "Ojama Trio" or "Nightmare Demons" to deal even more damage. With "Nightmare Demons", this effect would deal at least 4800 damage.

Since it is a Winged Beast, "Icarus Attack" can be used with it to destroy 2 cards on the field, and trigger its own effect to destroy more face up monster as well. Being a Dark attribute monster also means it can be used for "Deck Devastation Virus" or "Eradicator Epidemic Virus" while triggering its own effect again.

"Dark Strike Fighter" can release this card and deal 2000 burn damage, as well as triggering its effect.

All "Earthbound God" can be used with Field cards that has self-protective effect like "Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" or "Magical City Endymion". "Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle" is a Winged beast too that can be used for "Icarus Attack". "Mausoleum of the Emperor" or "Harpies Hunting Ground" (with Harpy deck) are also suitable for this card.

Only 1 "Earthbound God" monster can be face-up on the field. When there is not Field Magic Card face-up on the field, this card is destroyed. Your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target, This card can attack your opponent directly. When this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster.

This card is a very powerful card with high stats and can direct attack your opponent. It cannot be selected as an attack target, which means your opponent can't use "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole" to bounce it or "Honest" to destroy it in battle. On the flip side, this card can be easily destroy by using "Mystical Space Typhoon" on your field card.

There are many ways to summon this card:
- "Fires of Doomsday" to summon 2 tokens and Advanced Summoned it.
- "Allure of Darkness" to remove this card from game, and "Escape from Dark Dimension" to Special Summon it.
- "Dark Creator" or "Doom Shaman" can revive this card from Graveyard.

Searching of Field cards can be done using "Terraforming" or "Demise of the Land". "Mausoleum of Emperor" is an excellent Field card as it can be used to summon this card with 2000 LP.

"Evil Hero Infernal Gainer" can make this card attack twice for a deadly 6000 damage. "Dark Illusion" can be used to protect this card from all kinds of target effects. "Dark Bribe" could be used to negated any Trap or Magic cards. With "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" and "Mage Power" (and you have one Field card) equipped, this card can deal 8000 damage in one turn. (3000-500+1500) x 2. "Arms Hole" can be used to search for Equipment Magic Card easily.


Give and Take

Special Summon 1 monster in your Graveyard to your opponent's side of the field in Defense Position. Increase the Level of 1 monster you control by the Level of the Special Summoned monster until the End Phase.

At first sight, this card seems pretty useless because it not only give your opponent a monster but also does nothing much to your own monster aside from increasing its Level. However, there are several interesting combo that you can pull with this card, some example are:
- Special Summon recruiter or searcher like "Mystic Tomato" or "Goblin Zombie" from your Graveyard and destroy them in battle to get monster from your deck to your Field.
- Draw cards with "Card of Safe Return".
- Special Summon "Grinder Golem" in defense position (DEF 300), then max out the Level for "Greed Quasar" by destroying "Grinder Golem" in Battle Or, destroy "Grinder Golem" with "KA-2 Des Scissors" to deal 4000 burn damage.
- Summon cards like "Sasuke Samurai #3" or "The Bistro Butcher" and attack it with weaker monsters to inflict damage to yourself so that you can draw cards.
- Summon monster with low ATK and force it for attack your monster like "Yubel" or "Stone Statue of Aztecs" with cards like "All-Out Attacks" or "Battle Mania".
- Summon monster like "Giant Kozaky" or "Zombie Mammoth" that will destroy itself and deal high burn damage to your opponent.
- Summon "Miracle Flipper" to your opponent field, and attack it with "Fenrir". When "Miracle Flipper" is destroyed by battle, it will be Special Summoned again to your opponent field. So your Fenrir can attack it again next turn to stop your opponent from drawing. This is can be used as the evil Draw lock.
- Summon "Super Devil Lord, Id" to impose a Summon Lock on your opponent.
- Use cards like "Remove Brainwashing" or "Owner's Seal" to gain control of the monster you summon on your opponent's field.
- Use "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" to copy the effect of the Special Summoned monster.
- Summon "Colossal Fighter" (DEF 1000) and destroy it in battle to Special Summon a Warrior-type monster from your Graveyard.

The effect of increasing the Level of your own monster can be used to support Synchro Summon too.

Once per turn, you can send 1 Angel-type monster you control, except "Athena", to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Angel-type monster from your Graveyard except "Athena". Each time Angel-type monster(s) is Summoned, inflict 600 damage to your opponent.

The first effect is an Ignition Effect that allow you to revive your own Angel monster. The second effect is a Trigger Effect that inflict damage to your opponent each time an Angel-type monster is Normal Summoned, Reverse Summoned or Special Summoned successfully. The burn effect is not restricted to once per turn, which lead to the evil infinite loop combo (refer to "Honest").

This card can easily Advanced Summoned with "Gellenduo". The first effect allow you to change your low level monster to a high level on in your Graveyard. You can even get "Gellenduo" back to Advanced Summon higher level monster from you Hand. "Card of Safe Return" let you draw cards when you revive monsters from your Graveyard. "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" can be used to Special Summon this card from Hand too.

With this card on the field, you can easily deal 1200 damage at least on each turn by simply Normal Summon a monster, and then send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon another monster from there. "Shining Angel" and "Nova Summoner" recruiting effect can deal buurn damage to your opponent too by suicide it into your opponent's monster. With "The Sanctuary in the Sky" on the Field, you won't even receive any Battle Damage.

While "Athena" is on the field, you can use "Monster Gate" to Special Summon a monster while dumping more monster in the Graveyard, then swap the Special Summoned monster with another monster in the Graveyard to deal a total of 1200 damage. Use of "Celestial Transformation" and "Inferno Reckless Summon" inflict even more burn damage while you flood the field with monsters.

Having 3 copies of this card on field will triple the damage dealt for each summoning. However, summoning multiple monsters with one effect, like "Dimension Fusion" is count as one summon and 600 damage inflicted for each Athena.

When this card is Advanced Summoned, it gains the following effect:
- The effects of Effect monsters cannot be activated.

This card negates Ignition effect, Trigger effect, Quick effect and Flip effect of all Effect monsters. However, it will affect Continuous effect and Summon rule effect, simply because they don't need to be "activated". This card not only stop the activation of effect for monster on the field, it also stop monster in Hand, Graveyard, Deck and RFG.

This card together with "Royal Decree" and "Silent Swordsman LV7" makes an almost complete lock. Other cards that can do the same include "Jinzo" and "Magic Canceller".

To Advanced Summon this card quickly, "Gellenduo" or "Kaiser Sea Horse" can be used. Since this card need to be Advanced Summoned to get the effect, you can use "Herald of Creation" or "Monster Reincarnation" to get it back to Hand for recycling the effect. However, this card does not have any Special Summon restriction.


The Splendid VENUS

All non Angel-type monsters lose 500 ATK and DEF. The activation and effects of your Magic and Trap cards cannot be negated.

The first effect make all your opponent non Angel-type monster weaker by 500, which is quite significant. Unless it is a mirror match, this effect is definitely useful.

The second effect make all your Magic and Trap cannot be negated by cards like "Light and Darkness Dragon", "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8", "Solemn Judgment" or "Royal Decree". If you have a "Sky Scourge Invicil" or "Royal Decree" on the field, you can activate Magic/Trap cards while your opponent can't. However, this card does not work with "Jinzo", "Spell Canceller" or "Prohibition" because they forbide the activation/play of the trap/magic cards.

Advanced Summoning of this card can be done using "Gellenduo" and "Marshmallon". "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" can be used to Special Summon this card. "Trade In" dump and revive works well with this card too because there is no Special Summon restriction.

The effect is not only applicable in Draw Phase, but also any other phase. This will give you card advantage like some other Angel-type monsters, for example "Bountiful Artemis", "Skelengel" and "Airknight Parshath". Combo this card with "Magical Mallet" or "Card Trader" will give you high chance to draw more cards. "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" can be used to Special Summon this card easily.

Sky Scourge Invicil

This card cannot be Special Summoned. If you Advanced Summon this card by Releasing 1 of the following monsters, this card gets the appropriate effect:
- Light Angel-type monster: Negate the effects of all Magic Cards.
- Dark Demon-type monster: Negate the effects of all Trap Cards.

By Advanced Summoning this card with a Light Angel-type monster, this card has the effect of "Imperial Order". By Advanced Summoning this card with a Dark Demon-type monster, this card has the effect of "Royal Decree". However, the best trap negation monster is still "Jinzo" with higher attack than this card.

A quick way to Summon this card is by using "The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh" to bring out "Winged Kuriboh" which can be released to get the first effect, or "Kuriboh" which can be released to get the second effect. "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" and the token it generate, which happen to be Dark Demon and Light Angel respectively, are also great to be used with this card.

Miraculous Descent

Select 1 of your Angel-type monster that is remove from play and Special Summon it. When this card is removed from the Field, destroy that monster. When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.

This card is great for reviving strong monster without Special Summon restriction like "The Splendid VENUS", "Majestic Mech - Goryu" or "Athena". Ways to put those monster in RFG include using "Soul of Purity and Light" or "Gold Sarcophagus".

During your Main Phase, you can return this card from the field to it's owners' hand. During either player's Damage Step, when a face-up Light monster you control battles, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to have that monster gain ATK equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster it is battling, until the End Phase.

Powerful effect that allows you to boost the ATK of your Light monster by the ATK of your opponent's battling monster. You can activate this effect even in your opponent's turn, which makes this card even more evil when your opponent suicide their own monster. You can even activate the ATK boosting effect more than once in a turn if you have multiple copies of this card.

This card can be easily recuited by "Shining Angel" to the field. There are a few ways to recycle the effect of this card. "Beckoning Light" bring this card directly to your hand from the Graveyard. "Monster Reborn" this card and bounce this back to your hand using its own effect in your Main Phase. Remove this card from game by "Soul of Purity and Light" and get it back to your hand with "Light of Redemption" or "Dimensional Alchemist".

Comboing this card with "Victory Viper XX03" to generate high ATT token.
Comboing this card with "Cyber Twin Dragon" or "Asura Priest" to deal multiple times with high ATK.

Infinite combo loop with "Athena" and "Ultimate Offering" in Main Phase:
- Summon "Honest" with "Ultimate Offering" with "Athena" on Face-Up on your field.
- You pay 500 LP for "Ultimate Offering", your opponent lose 600 LP due to "Athena"'s effect
- Bounce "Honest" back to your Hand with its own effect, and repeat the cycle.
Ways to work around the 500 LP cost for "Ultimate Offering" including "Mysterious Puppeteer" or "Spring of Rebirth", that allows you to gain 500LP each loop. "Fire Princess" burn your opponent for additional 500 LP while you gain LP.

Special summon this card with "Celestial Transformation" or "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" and chain with "Inferno Reckless Summoning" to Special Summon 2 more copies of this card. Bounce all back to your Hand. Having 3 copies of this card in your Hand can be very deadly to your opponent. Similarly, use "Sky Scourge Enrise" or "Soul of Purity and Light" to remove this card from your Graveyard, then bring them all back with "Return from Different Dimension".

However, cards like "Baniser of Radiance" or "Macro Cosmos" that prevent you to send card to Graveyard will negate its effect. Card like "Angel 07" will totally prevent you from activating its effect even from your hand. "Deck Devastation Virus" will destroy this card the moment you draw it. This card would be an easy prey for "Mind Crush" if you recycle its effect.

Alchemy Cycle

The original ATK of all face-up monsters you control becomes 0 until the End Phase. Each time a monster that had its original ATK reduced to 0 by this effect is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, draw 1 card.

This card allows you to draw at the cost of reduce the ATK of your own monster to 0. However, if your monster is going to be destroyed anyway, and it is in defense mode, you can actually make use of this card to draw. If your monster is in attack mode, you can activate "Rainbow Life" or "Spirit Barrier" to negate the damage received through battle.

Comboing with "Creature Swap" or "Mystic Box" would allow you to deal potential battle damage to your opponent while you draw a card.
Comboing with "Damage Condenser" or "Damage=Reptile" would allow you to summon a monster to the field while you draw a card, at the cost of some LP.
Comboing with "Amazoness Swords Woman", "Magical Reflect Slime" or "Dimension Wall" would allow you the reflect the battle damage back to your opponent while you draw a card, at the cost of losing your monster.
Comboing with "Broken Block" would allow you to summon more monsters in defense position, while you draw a card.

Comboing with "Machine Duplication" on your Machine-Type monster allows you to summons more monsters from your deck. Although the original ATK of the monster will become 0 for this turn, the monster effect like that of "Blowback Dragon" can be very useful.

With "The Sanctuary in the Sky", monsters like "Nova Summoner" or "Shining Angel" can be used to suicide at your opponent monster multiple times with no LP reduction for more drawing more cards.

One thing to note is that monster with 0 original ATK is not affected by this card. Therefore, even if the monster is destroyed, you are not allowed to draw a card from this card effect.

When there are 4 Angel-type monsters in your Graveyard, this card can be Special Summoned from hand. When this card is successfully Special Summoned by this effect, add an Angel-type monster from your Graveyard to your Hand. When this card is face-up on the field, both players cannot Special Summon monster. When this card is about to be sent to Graveyard from the Field, return it to top of owner's Deck without going to Graveyard.

High Attack and its ability to stop all forms of Special Summon (including Synchro Summon) are great. This card can be summoned in other way beside its own effect: Advanced Summoned by using Gellenduo, Special Summoned from Hand through "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen", Special Summoned from Graveyard or Special Summoned from RFG zone by "Miraculous Descent".

The salvage effect when it is Special Summoned from its effect can be very useful in recycling some monster effect. Some possible targets to salvage are:
"Honest" - deal at leat 2800 damage to your opponent if the battle is success.
"Herald of Green Light" - Negate magic.
"Herald of Purple Light"- Negate trap.
By supressing Special Summon, the negation of magic and trap can be quite deadly to your opponent, although both herald monsters are not card advantage wise. This card coupled with "Sky Scourge Invicil" that provided the continuous Magic Spell negation effect could seal a lot of powerful strategy.

The effect that top-deck itself when sent to Graveyard can be good, especially if the Graveyard contains exactly 4 Angel-type monsters. With "Tethys, Goddess of Light" on the field, you can even draw one more card.

"Hecatrice" and "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" have good synergy with this card. The effect of "Hecatrice" helps you get 4 Angel-type monsters in Graveyard early and getting the Continuous Magic Card to Special Summon it too. "Zeradias, Herald of Heaven" and "The Sanctuary in the Sky" works the same way too. Other ways to get more Angel-type monsters in Graveyard include "Shining Angel" and "Nova Summoner".

"Soul of Purity and Light" provides a mean to control the number of Angel-type monsters in Graveyard.

Chaining cards like "Miraculous Decent" or "Celestial Transformation" to Special Summon this card, to your opponent's Special Summon is an elegant way to surprise your opponent. However, using "Celestial Transformation" will get itself destroyed and return to the top of your deck.

P/S: This card has exactly the same Level, Attribute,Type, Att and Def as "Archangel Zerato".






Fallen Angel Asmodeus

This card cannot be special summoned from the Deck or Graveyard. Once per turn, you can send 1 Angel-type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while on your side of the field, special an "Asmo Token"(Dark/Angel/Level 5/Att 1800/Def 1300) and a "Deus Token" (Dark/Angel/Level 3/Att 1200/Def 1200). An "Asmo Token" cannot be destroyed by card effects. A "Deus Token" cannot be destroyed by battle.

The card effect that moves Angle-type monster from Deck to Graveyard has good synergy with "Archangel Christia". "Honest" can be send to Graveyard in this manner and combo with "Beckoning Light" to get it back to your hand.

The two tokens generated are quite good and not easy to be destroyed, especially "Deus Token". 1800 ATT for the "Asmo Token" is quite high for a token. Both can be used for Advanced Summon or Synchro Summon.

Although this card cannot be special summon from Deck or Graveyard, it can be Special Summon from Hand and RFG zone, through "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" and "Miraculous Descent" respectively. Comboing "Allure of Darkness" with "Miraculous Decent" or "Escape from Dark Dimension" is a pretty good way to special summon it.

P/S: The total Level, Att and Def of the two token is equal to the card itself. :D

Introduction

Hi, I am a fan of Yugioh since its beginning. I am going to use this blog to review and introduce Yugioh OCG/TCG cards. I will post some decklists for some deck building reference as well in the future.

You might notice that cards that I review might not be popular or competitive. My card review mostly try to highlight some not so well-known cards and some interesting combo that you can perform with them. Some are not really in-depth review but just simply an introduction of the card.

Hopefully this will give some of you some new ideas to create new deck-type for fun or competition. If you have any interesting combos, please leave your comment, and it will be added to the review if necessary.
